Zero-Waste Mascara/Eyeliner Powder
Updated: Apr 14, 2020
Mascara and eyeliner are a daily necessity for many people, which (lets be honest) is not very good for our wallet OR our planet! Activated charcoal and bentonite clay are amazing things to have in the cupboard to make anything from the mascara/eyeliner powder shown here to teeth whitening paste and a multitude of face masks!
This recipe takes literally 5 minutes max to make and lasts for about a month! Store in any airtight container and dip your makeup brush into water to activate the powder.
*Tip: dip brush into water, roll in powder, and TAP the brush a few times or you will make a mess!
**This is not waterproof, but will last through your daily day's activities!
1. Add 1 Tbsp activated charcoal and 1 tsp bentonite clay to a mortar and pestle (or any bowl with a spoon) and combine powders together until well mixed.
2. Slowly add in drops of olive oil until the oil is well mixed into the powder and the activated charcoal is weighed down.
3. Store in airtight container up to one month.
