Tomatoland : In his book, author Barry Estabrook explores the life of a mass-produced tomato and reveals the massive human and environmental impacts of the tomato/agricultural industry. This book is a sort of exposé on the modern agribusiness industry and it outlines some important issues including: the lives of migrant farmworkers, the misuse of land and the widespread use of pesticides. Estabrook's book will definitely make you reconsider your next tomato purchase at the grocery store.

The Last Environmentalist- This one is truly wonderful. It talks about climate change (a usually very scary conversation) but does so while sharing the ways that people are rising to the challenge. From sustainable agriculture to people advocating for climate legislation, this podcast leaves me feeling inspired and motivated.
Yikes Podcast- This podcast talks about the things in our society that make us go "Yikes"- climate change, human rights, etc. I love this podcast because it discusses these overwhelming issues but also tries to find some hope in them. Definitely recommend.
